The Philippine Coomunity Coordinating Council (PCCC), in partnership with the Migrant Workers Office in Osaka (MWO-Osaka) celebrated International Teacher’s Day (Appreciation for Filipino teachers) on 4 October 2025 at the Goodnews Osaka Church, Nishinari-ku, Osaka City. The event which started at 1:00 p.m. lasted until 7 in the evening. Seventy four(74) teachers from all levels (college, junior and senior high school as well as elementary teachers and assistant language teachers) attended the event.
Highlights of the event included a”Talk Show” which featured sharing by known Filipino teachers in Kansai of their journey as teachers as well as leathercraft skill workshop to teach the teachers a new skill. The training was sponsored by MWO-OWWA.
To show appreciation for the teachers, a special buffet was prepared for them, courtesy of MWO-Osaka. Lots of door prizes as well as prizes for games were prepared for them, as well. The teachers showed their appreciation for the honor that they have been accorded and verbalized their wish that this activity be done every year.
