GOOD NEWS (YAMAGUCHI OUTREACH MISSION)

The Joint Consular and Labor Mission to Yamaguchi, led by the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka (PCG-Osaka) with the participation of MWO-Osaka, was conducted on 28 February 2026 at Tokuyama Catholic Church, Shunan, Yamaguchi.

During the mission, consultations with employers/principals from various industries were held, including those under the TITP and SSW programs. MWO-Osaka provided briefings on policies, procedures, and the importance of verification and accreditation of employment documents, as well as information on OWWA services. Updates on the upcoming Employment for Skill Development Program (ESDP) were also discussed.

For worker consultations, MWO-Osaka addressed concerns of Technical Intern Trainees and Specified Skilled Workers regarding their working conditions, skills development, and re-employment opportunities. Emphasis was placed on compliance with employment requirements, proper documentation, and maintaining professionalism and good workplace relationships.

Additionally, OWWA programs and services were presented, highlighting the importance of maintaining active membership. Onsite assistance was also provided, including processing of employment documents and issuance of OFW passes.

The activity served as a platform to strengthen coordination with employers and support the welfare of OFWs in the region.
