Hiroshima, Japan – In line with the Philippine government’s efforts to bring its services closer to the Filipino people within its area of responsibility and in support of the Philippine Consulate General’s Consular Outreach Mission, the Migrant Workers Office – Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA) Osaka provided services and assistance to a number of overseas Filipino workers in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima, Japan, on 25 July 2026 from 0830H-1730H.
The said outreach activity serves as an effective platform for information dissemination, consultation, addressing workers’ concerns, promoting government programs and services, provision of immediate assistance, and dialogue with the Filipino community. Likewise, the service activity provided the OFWs with a convenient access to government services on work-related concerns and avenue to promptly address their concerns.
A townhall meeting with officers and members the Filipino community in Hiroshima highlighted the activity that strengthened the Office’s engagement with the overseas Filipino workers working thereat. Labor Attaché Manuel M. Dimaano, Head of MWO Osaka, informed the participants in the meeting of the various activities of MWO-OWWA, as well as its upcoming activities, in partnership with TESDA NLSC, NBI Cybercrime Division, DTI, and NCMH, among others, aimed at strengthening the protection and promotion of welfare of OFWs in his prefectural jurisdictions.
