The Migrant Workers Office- Osaka, in partnership with TESDA National Language Skills Center, has launched a Free Examination Preparation (Review) for OFWs in the western and central Japan to prepare them for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3 scheduled on 06 December 2026.
The review program is in response to the language proficiency needs identified through the TNA conducted last July 2026 among OFWs under the prefectural jurisdictions of the MWO Osaka, the TESDA-NLSC proposes the implementation of a responsive and needs-based Japanese Language Training Program. The TNA findings indicate a significant need to strengthen the participants’ foundational Japanese language competencies, particularly in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to support effective communication in both workplace and daily-life settings.
The training program aims to provide accessible, relevant, and learner-centered language development opportunities that can enhance the OFWs’ confidence, functional communication skills, workplace readiness, and overall capacity to effectively engage with Japanese employers, co-workers, and the local community.
Registration is on-going and applicants will go through an interview, screening, and orientation process prior to their training proper scheduled in November 2026. Limited slots are provided initially with a maximum of 75 participants to better manage them. The participants will be divided into 3 groups with 25 participants per group and each group will have one lecturer.
The program incorporates mock examinations, performance-based exercises, and targeted discussions based on learners’ results to identify and address specific areas for improvement. This structured approach is intended to enhance participants’ test-taking skills, confidence, and overall readiness for the JLPT N3.
Another training program for Japanese Language A1-Level is set to be rolled out in January 2027.
This collaborative initiative by MWO Osaka and TESDA NLSC reinforces the Philippine government`s continuing commitment to promoting lifelong learning and strengthening the global competitiveness of the Filipino workforce. END
